The mission of the North Willamette Valley Friends of Music is to promote the education of local musicians at all levels and provide opportunities for the performance of live music in the local area.
This is accomplished by providing funding for:
- Individual music lessons at local studios
- Classes and music camps for local musicians
- Recitals and concerts
- Workshops and master classes
The concept of supporting local music began with the introduction of live music in the Aurora Colony Vineyards Tasting Room in the fall of 2014. Upon experiencing the wealth of local talent, John Moore decided to expand the activities to include an annual outdoor Jazz Festival in 2015.
Based on the success of the festival, the non-profit North Willamette Valley Friends of Music was formed to expand the outreach to music education and include more music events.
All styles of music are represented with the focus on classical and jazz.
North Willamette Valley Friends of Music’s premier event is the annual ACV Jazz Festival, held each summer at Aurora Colony Vineyards. Additional fundraising events are held throughout the year.
In 2017, we were proud to award five outstanding musicians with scholarships to help further their music endeavors! 2017 recipients were: Dylan Guidry, Riley Guidry, Johnathon Guerrero, Rhianna Miller and Jake Babb.
